Working with Hope and Horizons in Ukraine, we captured the powerful stories of families who have faced unimaginable loss due to the ongoing war. Through video, we documented families who have received new homes and those who are still waiting for the chance to rebuild. Each story highlights the strength of people determined to regain a sense of normalcy and stability, showing how a home can restore not just shelter, but dignity and hope.

While filming, we visited Bucha, a town deeply affected by violence during the war. The aftermath of the massacre is a sobering reminder of the devastation these families have endured, but it’s also where many stories of recovery begin. In Kyiv, we captured moments at the memorial for fallen soldiers, where families and communities gather to honor those they’ve lost. Through these videos, my goal was to show the impact of rebuilding homes—not just as structures, but as symbols of renewal, resilience, and the promise of a brighter future.
