A City in Shambles shows you a personal look at those affected by the !SIS (!SIL) occupation of Mosul, Iraq and the aid organization The Free Burma Rangers. This Video essay includes strong imagery of the destruction of west part of the city, but more importantly, thoughtful and personal portraiture of the Kurdish people who were devastated by the invasion of ISIS. From following a family in the morning through the city, to them being transported to safety, this essay aims to highlight a large scale issue through the eyes of the people affected by it.
